I have set up OpenWRT with 10 VLANs, each of which has its own IP range (both v4 and v6) and all of that is working beautifully. For right now, all devices end up with the domain being simply .lan What I would like to do, if it is possible to do, is get it arranged so that each VLAN has its own subdomain, e.g. trusted.lan, wireless.lan, guest

OpenDNS is a free DNS (Domain Name Server) service which makes internet browsing safer and allegedly faster. By simply using their DNS servers instead of your ISP's you are automatically protected from their list of Phishing websites. However, in order to restrict a variety of adult website content you will need to create a free account with them, register your IP address and select the Openwrt.org - Is Openwrt Down Right Now? If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services. When set to 0, use each network interface's dns address in the local /etc/resolv.conf. Normally, only the loopback address is used, and all queries go through dnsmasq. cachesize: integer : 150-c: Size of dnsmasq query cache. dbus: boolean : 0-1: Enable DBus messaging for dnsmasq. Standard builds of dnsmasq on OpenWrt do not include DBus support After upgrading the device from LEDE 17.01 to OpenWrt 18.06.4 r7808-ef686b7292 (latest stable version according to the website) DNS resolution failes after a reboot of the system. Even though dnsmasq is up and running (ps shows the deamon, and netstat -tulpen shows the deamon listing to port 53 as it should be) name resolution is not working

I tried everthing, but OpenDNS still not working – OpenDNS

DNS servers configured through DHCP: 192.168.0.1 <-- Your router 205.171.2.25 <--Qwest's DNS server. Qwest's DNS server will need to be removed from your machine for filtering to work correctly. If you find your computer's IPV4 DNS settings you should be able to remove the 205.171.2.25 address. Have you configured your router to use our DNS networking - Redirect DNS requests with OpenWrt - Server Fault Now I can access them by IP address, but not URI, as "the host is unknown". In the DHCP and DNS section of LuCI (OpenWrt's webinterface) under the option DNS Forwardings I specified the addresses of enterprise DNS servers (they are static), but with no success.

Thank you for the prompt answer. When I use plain OpenDNS on my router, sometimes it doesn't work because of HTTP mismatch, but sometimes it works too. I guess it's my ISP problem. After googling for a while, installing DNSCrypt on router needs installing openwrt firmware on my router which is not supported by openwrt. Thank you again. Setting DNS via DCHP Option in PUSH no longer working. push dhcp-option DNS 10.13.0.1 This option work on openvpn 2.3.14. But not work on the openvpn 2.4.0, what happens? It does not work in 2.3.14, but the "not working" bit is not so obvious - you need to have quotes around the arguments to push (if there are spaces) push "dhcp-option DNS 10.13.0.1" OpenWrt Forum Archive
